You only have one life.
App coming soon · Screen time, with something at stake
You only have one life. Don't waste it.
Put money on less social media. Stick to your limit and get it back.
How it works
Three steps. One week at a time.
Choose your plan
Pick your daily social media limit. A tighter limit means a smaller stake.
Live your week
Send one screenshot of your weekly screen time. Your average is what counts, so one bad day doesn't ruin it.
Win it back
Stay under your limit and get your stake back, minus a £5 fee. Go over and you lose it.
Which plan is right for me?
How much life would you get back?
Not sure? Check Settings → Screen Time on iPhone, or Digital Wellbeing on Android.
Your plan
A big but doable cut from where you are now.
Why not just use Screen Time limits?
Because ignoring them is free.
| Phone screen time limits | Nuverdi | |
|---|---|---|
| When you hit the limit | Tap "Ignore limit" and carry on | You lose your stake |
| One bad day | Limit resets every day | Weekly average, so you can make it up |
| Who checks | Only you | A real person checks your screenshot |
| What you get for sticking to it | Nothing | Your stake back, minus £5 |
| Cost | Free | £5 a month if you succeed. Your stake if you don't. |
How we verify
One screenshot a week.
Take a screenshot of your weekly screen time from each device you use: phone, iPad, laptop. Your limit covers them all.
Upload it within 48 hours of the week ending. Miss the window and you lose your stake.
A real person checks every screenshot against your plan's limit before your money comes back.
What a valid screenshot shows
- The dates of the week that just ended.
- Social media: the Social category, or your social apps.
- Your daily average for that week.
- Every device: one screenshot per phone, iPad or laptop you use, or turn on "Share Across Devices" on Apple.
Won't be accepted: cropped or edited screenshots, a single day instead of the week, or someone else's phone.
iPhone: Settings → Screen Time → See all activity → Week. Android: Settings → Digital Wellbeing.
If you cheat, you only cheat yourself.
From the founder
Screen time limits are easy to ignore. You tap "ignore", and nothing happens. I built Nuverdi to change that: put a little money behind the promise you make to yourself, and suddenly it counts.
It's simple, it's fair, and if you stick to it, you get your money back. You only have one life. Don't spend it scrolling.

Is this gambling?
No. Nothing is left to chance. Whether you get your money back depends only on your own screen time, which you control. Nuverdi is a commitment service: you put money behind a goal to help you stick to it.
What about my iPad or laptop?
They count. Your limit covers your total across every device you use social media on. Send a screenshot from each one (up to 4), or on Apple turn on "Share Across Devices" in Screen Time and one iPhone screenshot covers all your Apple devices. Using a device you didn't include means you fail that month.
Which apps count?
Social media apps like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, X and Facebook. We go by the social category in your phone's screen time settings.
What if I forget to upload my screenshot?
You have 48 hours after each week ends. If no screenshot arrives in that time, the week counts as missed and you lose that month's stake. We email you a reminder on Monday morning, and again on Tuesday evening if you still haven't uploaded.
When do I get my money back?
If you pass the month, we refund your stake minus the £5 fee to your original card within 7 days. Banks usually take another 5 to 10 days to show it.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Email us any time and your plan won't renew next month. The month you're in still counts.
Do I need the app?
No. Until the app launches, you log in to My Nuverdi on this website to send your weekly screenshot and follow your progress.
Who can join?
Anyone aged 18 or over living in the UK.
